Biography
Colin is an experienced litigator and law firm leader. From 2014-2026 he was Head of Disputes at an international law firm, spending some 8 years of that period on the firm’s Executive Committee. During that period, the firm was widely recognised as the fastest growing City law firm and the UK Disputes team revenue more than quadrupled.
As a litigator, Colin’s focus is high-end, commercial disputes. Colin is ranked as a leading individual in the Legal 500 2026 and Chambers UK, Europe and Global 2026 directories. He has been recognised in the Lawyer Magazine Arbitration Powerlist. Two of his cases – Yukos (2019) and QIPCO (2024) – were listed in the Lawyer’s Top Twenty Cases of the Year. He has appeared on UK TV and radio speaking on litigation matters.
Colin has handled a portfolio of cases ranging from domestic public and private law litigation to international arbitration and litigation around the world. Representative cases include acting for a UK healthcare regulator defending a £23m misfeasance in public office claim; acting for the former CEO of Renaissance Capital in a $50m claim by Yukos shareholders; acting for a Premier League football club in a high-profile dispute under PL Rules; and acting for a major international energy contractor in arbitrations concerning transnational energy infrastructure agreements.
